Firstly there are no instructions whether you run the wires on the swing door or on the slats themselves and then close the door to them. Since the color key is on the swing door, I decided to install the wires there. When I was done I closed the door with the wires attached to the blades and made sure it was attached nice and tight with the little black clip that came with it. I'm working with Rj45 connectors for the first time; There was no internet connection on the first try. I realized the problem was that 2 of the 8 cables were only halfway into the slots. I pulled them all out and this time I took them off instead of leaving the plastic cover/hinge attached. I would run the cable over the slot (not inside) until it exits the slot on the other side.
