Review on Monoprice Cat5E RJ-45 Toolless Keystone Jack, Blue (100313): Easy and Efficient Network Connection Solution by Rob Rogers

Revainrating 3 out of 5

More difficult to install than traditional Keystone

How many companies have they tried to improve something that didn't need improvement and made it worse in the process. I've installed many keystone bushings with a conventional punch tool in the past and have never had a problem with them. I ordered one of these and now it takes a lot of time and effort to install. I'm following instructions which aren't provided, by the way you'll need to dig up a link from other Revain reviews or do a search. net for them - and the process is theoretically simple enough, but in practice I could not completely close the lid. the lid hinge at all, and then it closed. This seems counterintuitive as leaving a small piece in the cap would increase stability and protect the wires more if a force were applied to them. What should have been quick and easy is now time consuming and frustrating. They could just make a traditional keystone and then add a cheap plastic perforation to each order and it would be a lot cheaper and easier for them and for us.
