We bought a VTech kit, better than Panasonic

We bought a Panasonic kit and had to return it. Unfortunately, like our other set, we were six years old and doing great. The buttons are small and the sound is terrible, we couldn't hear it at 7. The battery life from the charger was terrible. Tech support didn't like it - they just told us to buy another phone system. Kudos to V-Tech support line and tech support on setup, everything went smoothly but then we got confused and tech service was quick to respond and walk us through step by step. We'll call back to hook up our phones and figure out the lockdown system. We traded for VTech Remote phones. We have an acre of land and you can use it there and up to the neighbors and our mailbox across the street which is about 125 feet from the house. The buttons are good for the elderly and we love the instant call blocking! Easy to read. We don't like bright red light at night, softer light would be better. We have to turn him face down every night. SOUND - although definitely better than the Panasonic, it's still pretty low for us given our poor hearing and using speakerphone. We haven't connected our phones to the phone yet. The main thing we have trouble with is the locking system. It's easy to block a call by simply pressing a button, but setting it up is confusing. We've set it up to block spam/bot calls and when it does, the person on the other end will hear a recording asking if they're a family member or friend and if so If so, press the # key. Unfortunately, they usually hang up beforehand or give up and cannot leave a message either. Robo's call blocker also caused problems when Walmart called to tell us the medication was ready, the doctors when they gave us an appointment. I'm sure there must be an easy way around all of this, but we didn't have time to figure it out or call. Also, it doesn't ring when you put it on the phone, it flashes red at the top - so you better take a look or you won't know. Sometimes he makes a brief appearance on TV, but we don't always watch TV and when I'm in the garden he causes trouble if he doesn't ring the bell. For the most part, we like the phone system.

Nice unit and easy to set up but the range is very over-rated. My unit drops out at about 500 feet.
