Use Peanut Butter: Dogs

My pup didn't understand what I wanted him to do with the touch command. He tried to touch my hand and slapped in all directions but not the button. finally came up with the idea of spreading peanut butter on the bell while he wasn't looking. After wandering around the door, he sniffed it and then licked the doorbell for a treat, which rang immediately. At first he was a little scared, but I immediately stood up and said yes! went to the potty and he was over the moon waiting for his leash. Now he has a concept after making it twice with peanut butter. He rang the bell about 10 times after leaving and coming in. I don't care at this point if he does, if he needs to go potty or not, I just want him to relate the call to communicating with me, he wants to go outside. I put a bell on the back door which is in my laundry room where there is an interior door that needs to be closed. Which I've done now that we've come and gone a few times and I know he doesn't need to go potty. I'll open the door to give him access when he's free for about an hour or after he's eaten, and I know he'll have to leave pretty quickly. if he goes potty he gets precious treats - if not we just go outside - I give the potty command - if nothing happens we come right back, no play, no walk and no treats when we arrive. Find out what it's like for the potty when he sees he only gets a treat for actually minding his own business. I initiate walks and playtime and don't let him ring at all, so he needs to make that connection over time. Thanks for a really great product :)
