As a woman married to a British man I've had my fair share of dummies. The mention of "rust" in some of the comments seemed far-fetched to me, so I ordered this one. and now i'm so glad i did. This is probably the 10th kettle I've owned and at 1/3 the cost of my most expensive from the past it's already eclipsing it. Wonderful little teapot. Very strong glass. nice to feel Not "thimble" at all. Well, a bit about rust 😂😂😂 as I suspected, it's not rust. These are mineral deposits. All kettles must be descaled with vinegar. It's not unhealthy, just unsightly. Just use vinegar and water, boil it in a kettle and wipe clean! Oh kicker. If these commentators had read the cute little booklet that came with it, they would have known what it was and how to fix it. People who throw away instructions shouldn't complain if something's wrong lol. Buy a kettle. It's absolutely perfect. And Brit approved!Update! It's been a year and a half since my review and I still love love love this kettle! It's so easy to clean (just wipe off and leave the lid open to dry after brewing. Run it through the vinegar cycle when mineral buildup starts). buy these! Not only does it last a long time, the light is really cool and the kettle heats water very quickly. ^_^ and we use it 5-10 times a day because tea is literally all my husband drinks. I'm not even joking hahaha so this is very useful! The light works and everything.
