Sharp and good in boxed knife sets

This knife is sharp but like any other knife it needs to be looked after. I haven't seen rust on my knife like others, but I know what caused the rust. on a knife. Rust will also appear on other knives, whether expensive or not, if you repeatedly wash the knife in the dishwasher. A dishwasher is nice and practical for the home, but don't overload it with stainless steel or other metal cookware. The dishwasher has a water cycle that rinses and washes your dishes and uses steam at the end of the cycle. Steam cooking is used to ensure that no bacteria remain on the dishes and that they are hygienic. However, steaming is not suitable for steel as it causes rust. Rust on steel is caused by oxidation between air, water and steel. The result should be visible after several years of continuous contact between these elements, although heat can be a factor in accelerating the process. Rust has happened to me before, not from a knife but from a stainless steel pot handle, a spoon and a rice cooker. I hand washed them following instructions on YouTube and everything is clean. I also later learn that the knife is best hand washed and wiped clean with a paper towel or rag. Your reason is not the same as mine. The dishwasher can chip the edge of the knife because the knife constantly hits other dishes in the dishwasher. The broken edge dulls the knife and breaks it, which is dangerous. It doesn't matter if a knife is dishwasher safe, the best care for all knives is still hand washing and then drying with a cloth or paper towel.
