I bought this to help with my hobby of working with Kydex plastic and to refine the parts I have molded. I've used much more expensive heat guns and the only difference I see is the lack of a heat setting indicator and variable heat control between high and low temp (this item only has low and high temp). It heats up quickly and its light. It's performed well on about 10 different projects so far, but since I only use it for final adjustments, I haven't had to use it for long at a time. So far it has worked well for my purposes. I hope I don't have to buy a new one for a long time, but if my wife was mad at me for wasting too much time on my hobby and broke it before it stopped working prematurely, I would buy again.
