Unfortunately the two highest rated reviews were written for the wrong reasons - this is a complete nutritional drink for children with eating disorders, it will NOT replace a milk or juice carton! Healthy children should not need Kid Essentials 1.5. give them milk However, if your child has an eating disorder and is struggling to eat enough to maintain adequate nutrition, Kid Essentials 1.5 is a great addition to the repertoire of parents and nutritionists. It can be used for babies who eat all their nutrition exclusively in liquid form (even through a tube) and have more calories than Infant Formula (or Pediasure). My only complaint is that it's almost too nutritious - my daughter (16.5 months old with severe GERD and developmental delay) can't tolerate it 100% as it's causing her GI issues. However, I use this mixed with baby formula to increase the calorie count and it does well. However, this can take away her appetite so I try to feed her in the evening/night rather than during the day as I've been trying to get her to mouth more food. It's also very sweet/heavy flavored and she tends to avoid it as she doesn't like the sweet taste. So I also use Duocal and Benecalorie to add calories without much flavor.
