Frequent crashes when writing medium files on Android (USB-C)

I love the design and build quality of the Sabrent USB-C/USB card reader. It's the only USB-C card reader that's truly "case-friendly". The problem I'm having is that when using USB-C to connect to an Android device (Samsung Tab S4, Note 8 and LG V20), writing files fails halfway through. . This happens almost every time medium sized (i.e. > 100MB) files are written. A 100MB file is not a large file by today's standards. other brand usb-c otg card readers, file copy works well with the same file, memory card and device. I've tried 3 different microSD cards, 3 Android devices and different files and TWO of these Sabrent card readers and they always give this write error for medium sized files. Sometimes copying a small file (10MB) also results in this error. When using a USB-C OTG card reader of a similar but different brand, I didn't have any of these typos at all. I really like the design of this card reader and even submitted the ticket to sabrent and provided all the information hoping they could fix the problem but in the end they closed my ticket before solving my problem. I am currently left with a spare card reader that still has this issue.

Pros
  • Lots of good stuff
Cons
  • No performance
