I don't know how this device is connected, but I can tell you for sure that the switch does NOT turn the device off completely - ie. behaves as if someone had unplugged the device's USB cable. Works on some devices. On others, like my camera, it goes into a zombie state which crashes the camera and causes it to lose its settings. With others I get errors in the operating system. Since each package comes with two switches, I don't think it's a faulty switch as both switches behave the same.
