After reading hundreds of reviews about this device I bought two. My mantra is, if you find something you like, buy a lot as it may be out of stock for a long time. I plan to buy more. This smartphone holder for Arkon SM410 is extremely versatile. You have many options to install it on your windshield. The main arm of the suction cup is curved, so the angle of the suction cup determines the height and direction. Lever twist adjustment feels powerful. The ball joint that holds the cradle isn't as tight, but seems tight enough to hold the HTC Hero perfectly in the Otter Box case. An advantage; If the ball joint that tightens the "nut/cap" breaks, there is another one on the vent mount. (I'm not a fan of the vents and don't plan on using them. But there are two pieces, the same as those on the windshield bracket, that can be used as spares.) I installed them two days ago and the harsh winter temperatures and Iowa streets haven't moved. The suction cup is a good size and the clamping lever feels strong. The holder itself has rubber pads on both sides and lower footrests. It closes nicely and securely and opens at the touch of a button. I installed one in my E150 van at rear view mirror level. After a bit of tweaking, I set it up so that the rear view mirror is just off. The main holder seems well designed to give you access to as many pads and ports as possible. I am very satisfied with this device. ***UPDATE*** It's been a stable week and I'm looking forward to this mount. I found that the legs on the bottom of the holder are also adjustable. (Read the instructions! Yes.) In fact, they will rise to create more support when used in a "landscape" manner. Temperatures in Iowa were all over the map last week. 5 below and above freezing; dry and then wet (humidity). Both brackets remain firmly connected to both windshields of the vehicle. I already mentioned that the ball joint seemed a little loose. Well, it's probably intentional. This allows you to rotate the GPS display holder to landscape without loosening the mounting nut.
