Review on Enhanced Nintendo Wii U 32GB Deluxe Bundle with Mario Kart 8 (Pre-Installed) for Impressive Gaming Experience by Lawrence Feldman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A fun system that you shouldn't be afraid to jump into.

I have PS4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, those consoles will likely never see Mario or Link on their systems. After the release of Super Mario Maker and several hours of streaming on Twitch, I really wanted to play this game on Wii U. But justifying the purchase of the system with a game was extremely difficult. So I chose Walmart and before I made a hasty decision. I checked the game box for other games that might justify this purchase. I found several games that might interest me. Mario Kart 8, Mario Tennis, Splatoon, Super Mario 3d World, Xenoblade and Yoshi's Woolly World. So I've decided on a console, but which one? I bought these when they were on sale for $249.99 while most others were still $299.99. Mario Kart 8 is a blast and comes preinstalled. No downloads, no updates, it worked with a full download - except for two additional packages that require download codes that come with this system. I had a regular Wii and a point and time and had to figure out where to place the sensor bar as I was already running out of space with my other two systems. In short, I don't regret buying this system at all. Yes, it's different and may not offer true "hardcore gamer" power, but overall you'll find plenty to enjoy. Mario Kart 8 still has a 'rubber band' aesthetic to keep the game closer and you're regularly penalized for taking first place, but it's a blast playing multiplayer with friends. I also got Super Mario Maker and the console is very good for creating levels and progressing quickly. car, but the tasks are anything but childish. Besides, where else can you play Mario games on console? I have never had to be afraid of this system or buying it, and neither should you. Also, if you're worried about a limited library, note that there are hundreds of games on the virtual console to hook up to. The biggest problem I have with the system is the controller. It's big and not very ergonomic. And I bought the classic Wii U Pro controller, which in a way mimics the Xbox One controller, but IMO it really should be bundled with the console. I can't play Mario Kart 8 for 2 hours with a standard touchscreen controller, long enough to keep my hands unsteady. It's still a great system and games look great on it. You will not regret it.
