The rubber collar on my old piston became very soft and didn't work very well for a few years, the last time I used it it didn't work at all. . A new one arrived today, what's the difference with the dirty old one. It's bright and fun and the rubber part of the bowl is really solid and ready to use. I wish I had bought this a long time ago. I'm very happy with my purchase, the price was good, cheaper than calling a plumber to unbolt the toilet. I know it won't let me down. If you're thinking about it, I highly recommend it. ***UPDATE*** I've had it for three months now, yesterday I used it (for the first time) to unlock the toilet. I have found it useful to have a bucket handy (between dives) to place a plunger in place of my nice clean tile. I rocked it up and down a few times. It took about three or four separate attempts between flushing the toilet. The plunger worked well and I'm glad I had it. After a short flush, it is ready for the next emergency. It was money well spent.
