I bought this soldering iron to fix the logic board on my garage door opener because the remotes only worked up close (yes I already checked the batteries and RFI excluded ). ). Set it to 300 degrees Celsius, let it warm up for a few minutes and redistribute the solder on the joints that hold the 5-pin header. Now the remote controls work remotely! It's not the most reliable tool, but it saved me $80 on a new logic board, or much more on a tech visit. This is the first time I've soldered anything since doing woodworking in high school and it was very intuitive and easy. I can't get enough of this new tool.
