After using 2 canon flashes and a canon receiver for portrait photography for about 5 years, I decided to try the yongnuo when my two canon flashes on the same day died I'm glad I did. My 2 Yongnuo flashes and receiver work just like my expensive Canon and I can still use rechargeable AA batteries. I paid $500 for each Canon flash and $400 for a Canon receiver. At Yongnuo I paid about $350 for 2 flashes and a receiver and got the same results. Additionally, there was no way for Canon flashes to tell me how much charge was left in my batteries, which I get with the Yongnuo. This is not a problem; In fact, I now buy extra flashes as a backup.
