I have been using this scanner for over a year and have scanned hundreds of typewritten pages, old slides and photos. For the money this is a great tool. We have a newer and much more expensive scanner in the office, but I often take work home to scan because the Epson 1670 does the job better. The only thing I complain about is the lack of clear instructions for use. Once I figured out how to operate the machine through trial and error, I fell in love with it because of its speed.
