the hold and finish described in this product is exactly as advertised, it offers fantastic hold and almost no shine. However, the reason I only had to give this product 3 stars is because of one of the biggest cons in my case. This is one of those products that has grit in it. So for me personally, and for anyone with dark/black hair, there's always that grainy look of dandruff (and no, it's not me). I've tried this on damp hair, wet hair, dry hair, working the paste in, not finishing it and always leaving the same grainy finish. Haven't given up on this brand entirely, I will try some of the other pastes they offer, seems like a higher quality product but if like me you have dark wavy hair try a strong hold natural tone product may not be for you. I see this as suitable for shorter blonde hair and is a good product for that application.
