. They are inexpensive and suitable for regular oil changes; I wouldn't recommend them for long drain times (over 6,000-8,000 miles) though. I typically change my oil every 5,000 or 4-5 months, whichever comes first. This time I used the Mobile 1 extended drain interval (oil that should last 20,000) and left the oil at 9,000. When I took the filter out this time, I noticed that the pleats were separating from the core and wearing out a bit. I have replaced it with another K&N filter but will be mindful of the filter's ability to last over 3000-5000 miles.
