Perfect fit and performance.

Perfect fit for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. The check engine light came on with every oil change. After doing some research, I found that the oil change location was using cheap aftermarket filters that were causing the computer to fail. Several other studies have shown that not using OEM filters triggers the check engine light. I decided to try the K&N filter to see if the error goes away. I didn't have access to the OEM parts. On the same day I changed the filter, the light went…

Critics are right

So I've been waiting for a review of this product after using it. Before buying I looked at the photos in the reviews. I noticed twisted filters and dismissed them as untrustworthy. I have serviced my cars and changed oil for many years. I've never had a filter like this before. Obviously the size of the filter is almost correct but it seems too big and curled up as you can see from the photos and some other reviews. While I can't confirm if this has damaged the oil flow or caused other…

Used for many years but not recommended for extended drain intervals.

. They are inexpensive and suitable for regular oil changes; I wouldn't recommend them for long drain times (over 6,000-8,000 miles) though. I typically change my oil every 5,000 or 4-5 months, whichever comes first. This time I used the Mobile 1 extended drain interval (oil that should last 20,000) and left the oil at 9,000. When I took the filter out this time, I noticed that the pleats were separating from the core and wearing out a bit. I have replaced it with another K&N filter but will be

Cheap purchase, but hopefully worth it.

As usual, K&N make a quality product, but you will pay dearly for it. Their products are often double and sometimes higher than the usual fair value from Fram, Purolator and even factory OEMs like Mopar and Motorcraft. However, when it comes to items that don't need much replacement, like air filters and even oil filters (once a year for me since I don't drive more than 5,000-7,000 miles a year), I often choose the K&N brand. I know there's a lot of crap out there, especially with oil filters…

Didn't work: Oil Filter and Accessories

I've been changing my own oil for years and don't use K&N oil filters, but wanted to give it a try. I ordered it for a 2014 Rubicon and found the fit on the lid isn't what I'm used to, there seemed to be some up and down play. I replaced the o-ring on the cap and placed it on the tank. I started hand tightening and the o-ring seemed to push out as I screwed it in. I unscrewed it, pulled out the cap and the filter fell off. I pulled the filter out, put it back on the cap, made sure it was in…

Filter triggered check engine light on our 2014 Chrysler T&C

I usually use Wix or something cheap on a minivan to change the oil filter. This time I ordered K&N 7026 because it had to fit perfectly. I drove the car for 1 day on business and the next day the CEL light on the dashboard came on. I took the car to Autozone and they read the code, it was P06DD - Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Stuck. The code is related to the oil pump: Code P06DD - The engine oil pump has seven vanes and a moving element that continuously adjusts the supply of variable…
