The cables and connectors are of very high quality and are made of high-strength materials. It will probably take a long time. However, the connector for the iPod does not provide a secure connection. The connector slips out of position at the slightest provocation. There are no locking clips that were on the original Apple cables. If you don't plan on moving your iPod while using the cable, this works just fine. But if you have to lift your iPod to change songs or settings while the cable is connected, the cable easily slips out of the socket in the iPod. I only gave it one star for charging as this device doesn't compromise on efficiency. When charging an iPod, it will charge if it is connected to a USB power source, otherwise it will do nothing. I see no need to include this category in this review. If the cable itself were a power source, then this criterion would be relevant, but it is not.
