Unfortunately still the best non-subscription Floodlight camera option

This review looks at the general pros and cons of this camera, as well as the differences between its 1st and 2nd generation. PROS: 1. Setting up to connect to the Eufy app was easier than the first gen, the first gen was pretty straightforward, they just made it a bit slimmer. The physical connection was the same, turn off the switch, use wire nuts to connect hot/neutral/ground, install the included bracket and screw in the headlight. In general, each camera should take around 10 minutes from start to finish. 2. Since they implemented human AI I don't get more than a hundred notifications a day like I did with their 1st gen flood cameras or other cameras without human AI detection. In fact, my notifications are back on and I'm paying close attention to my Eufy notifications. I have no idea why their original Gen 1 headlights didn't recognize a person because their doorbells released before Gen 1 headlights did. I found 1080p good enough, but sometimes I couldn't quite make out the faces. With the 2k update, I can pretty clearly see who's intruding.4. Can stream and record in 2k or 1080p depending on what you set up.5. When it comes to other non-subscription cameras, they usually have a hard limit on how long they can record and a cooldown where they don't record for a few minutes after that. However, because Eufy stores its recordings locally, these cameras record up to a minute at a time and continue to create 1-minute files until they no longer detect motion. I had footage of me working in the yard for over a month and there was still plenty of room. 6. Transfer recordings/images to your phone/computer in one click. CONS: 1. It's extremely minor but the 2nd gen box looks the same as the 1st gen box except it displays 2k instead of 1080p and doesn't mention anything about human AI which is its main advantage for me. (Marketing team?!?) 2a. God motion activation zones the benefit is they finally let you manipulate a hex to fill awkward spaces unlike their 1st gen where they gave you rectangles you couldn't rotate but somehow they managed to make it worse. . You drag the various points of the hexagon to fill/create any area, but every time you try to drag the point it either drags your entire shape around and distorts your entire shape, or after you release the point , it returns to its original position. If you have a phone where you move away from the edge to minimize your apps, you can minimize your Eufy.3 app by dragging the hexagonal dots close to the edge of the screen. They have a dead zone on their doorbell that you can set up, which they don't. Sometimes the doorbell mistakes parts of my gutter or tree for a person and keeps sending me alerts. To fix this, you can place a non-activated zone over each camera view. Your doorbells only give you a zone with no activation, these headlights don't give you any. Haven't received any false positives yet, but it's only been a few days so we'll see.4. For some reason, when you currently create activation zones, you can't cover 10% of the left and right sides of the screen. So you lose 20% of the total area activated by movement. It really annoys me that Eufy keeps telling me that software updates for their 1 separately. On the other hand, the 2nd gen fixed almost all the problems they had with the 1st gen, so these cameras are definitely worth the higher $50 price tag. It's a small thing, but if they fix their activation zone software and add non-activation zones, I think these Gen 2 headlights will be perfect. But if you look at what they did with their 1st gen, it might take a 3rd gen Floodlight to fix those little issues. that does not work. I just highlighted my property with activation zones but it still picks up people walking across the street.
