The lid itself is excellent, I don't know which factory made it, but when I opened the package there was a metal smell. No big deal because if you get something like this, you still have to wash it before using it. When I opened the package and pulled out the cover I wasn't sure if that was what the cover was made of (?) or if it was just something on it, but I had a very bad skin reaction in my palm and a little on the bottom of my forearm; where the lid touches. just a few small red itchy bumps that look like irritated bumps and are VERY itchy. I put eczema cream and A+D ointment on it and it was gone in about 3 days. I was just nervous about using a case afterwards so I washed it 3 more times in the cold with no heat to dry as directed and nothing has happened to me since then. So I'm guessing it was the packaging/something that was on the cover at the time and I've since thrown the packaging away just to be sure. Something to watch out for, something that caused mild skin irritation for me, could very well be deadly for someone else.
