Works great with proper use and a few tips for best results

I highly recommend you practice this polish before applying it to a great work of art as it can ruin it very quickly. I use this brand of high gloss varnish to cover, protect and give a brilliant shine to my acrylic paintings. Although the Liquitex brand costs more, it is worth the money for the bottom line. one thinks of a GLOSSY finish. Poor quality paint can ruin a perfect masterpiece. _________________________________________________ I learned a few tricks to create a smooth glass surface that is 100% transparent after drying. Feel free to try them yourself. *Apply a generous amount to artwork. *Use a silicone brush (reduces the brush stroke) to apply a thick layer to the image. almost horizontally, without pressure, stroke the brush from top left to right over the edge of the canvas so that it flows off the image material. The weight of the brush is enough to remove excess product but leaves enough for an ideal layer thickness. Use a light sheen from the canvas to gauge thickness. 2 layers smooth out the grainy texture of the canvas.* Each starting or ending point of the brush becomes visible, so start the stroke on the canvas, move to the other side while continuing the stroke on the canvas. Overlap the edge to smooth out the previous brush line.* As the product will begin to dry fairly quickly, work quickly and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX STAINS or thin areas AFTER you have started smoothing out the product. This will only aggravate the situation. Can be applied with another full coat. *I alternate vertical and horizontal strokes between layers to further prevent line formation.* Too thick = milky, misty, wavy finish * Too thin = uneven or no shiny finish Drying time = rough, uneven, milky finish (es is sticky when drying) __________________________________________ I personally apply about 4-6 coats for deep, transparent coverage. It's very hard to see in my photos, like yes. material dries out. Good luck and "happy little accidents"

Pros
  • Conforms to ASTM D4236; Safe for educational use
