Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Sovol 3D Printing Preinstalled - Enhanced Performance and Upgrades by Chris Horton

However, there is a lot of potential here.

. The quality of the electronics leaves a lot to be desired, now two of them have had to be sent back. One broke right out of the box - the Y-axis limit switch always showed as tripped, even when the connector was removed directly from the control board. The second just came back yesterday after two months of ownership - it actually failed on the last possible day I had to initiate a return. I'm glad I didn't wait another day. The bed has decided that it no longer wants to get warm, the MOSFET on the controller has failed. I still have an SV03 at home and *it* doesn't have a filament heart rate sensor. Checked as enabled in the Control Panel, printing from an SD card so Octoprint doesn't interfere, and. no Even if it's completely disabled, the machine thinks the sensor is there and loaded with filament. It's not a particularly useful "feature". If anything else goes wrong with this machine, I'll exit the build anyway, but put in a new controller that won't fail in the blink of an eye. I really like the SKR boards in my Ender 3. These printers have a lot of potential. They're physically quite well built, the build volume to price ratio is excellent, and when they *make* a print, they print pretty well. However, the control boards appear extremely fragile and do not inspire confidence. If you buy one of these make sure you keep the (huge) box. You may need it again.

Pros
  • a nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
