If you just want to make a mouthguard out of it, that's fine. After my kid's been playing sports for nine years, we've poured dozens of mouthguards in hot water and that's what you get with them. I bought it because it was cheap hoping it would fit my bottom teeth. I finally gave up. It's like these things are made of two different materials between the top and the side. The top fits my tooth tips very well but no heat, teeth grinding, sucking, try again, try again, try again, heat again, try again, works. The front remains almost completely smooth while the tips fit nicely on the tops of my teeth.
