My son couldn't be happier

Don't trust reviewers who say micro-adjustments lead to wild variations. If you give yourself a few minutes to get used to the machine, you'll find that you can sharpen it to get into the hitting zone consistently. This could mean adjusting the distance from the starting plate or using a micro-adjustment to raise or lower the ball where it is held on the throwing arm. And all you need is small left or right hand taps from half an inch on the back foot to make horizontal adjustments from 6 inches to a foot on the original plate. I'm far from a baseball expert, but I can tell you that my son just needed a lot more repetition on the plate to become more confident during his minor league games and finally get some hits ( he went without a hit for most of the season). . We've only had him for about a week and there's already a big difference in his confidence and ability to hit the ball. I couldn't be happier. And neither could he. After all, I wouldn't let a kid under 14 walk. It has plenty of torque to throw and the ball will be thrown at over 40 mph. It also requires some weight and strength to step on the pedal before the ball releases the ball. Anyone suggesting that an 8 or 10 year old can control this even with an adult hovering over them is asking for trouble. At least my kids know mom or dad should be in charge. otherwise they might think they can take it outside when we're not looking. That caveat aside, I think this is a great learning tool for any kid who wants to practice hitting a ball a lot more than usual little league practice allows. At best, your child will hit a few dozen balls in practice to hit as much as they want and for as long as they want. The only thing that will tire you is to collect all the balls from the entire field in one bucket and launch the next bucket. My son could do this for hours if dad didn't get tired of spending long hours in the hot sun! And my son wants to do this every day throughout the summer. That's why we got it.
