In contrast to many "transponder keys" on the market, these are real transponder keys, not replica keys. This means they already have an identification code stored, unlike cloning keys which are blank and need to copy the code of an existing key in your car (hence the term 'key cloning'). These keys only need to be physically cut for your ignition cylinder and then registered in your Honda vehicle's immobilizer. You can have a locksmith or Honda dealer do the cutting and filing, or if you have a scanner like the Autel MaxiDAS or MaxiSYS you can do it yourself. There are other scan tools that can also perform key registration such as B. the Launch X431 series; Autel is exactly what I use. For those interested in more technical details, these keys use the Megamos Type 13 transponder chip used in many 1998-2005 Honda models (Accord, Civic, Insight).
