This was my first laser engraver and I love it! I have more experience with 3D printing so this was a transition for me. A lot has stayed the same, but a lot has changed. The product was very well packaged and everything was well hidden. This engraver comes with everything you need except a computer. You'll need this to run the engraving software, but it's also included on a nice USB stick with simple instructions. Speaking of instructions. throw them out. There is enough incorrect information included to include the contents of the package (they incorrectly list items with the wrong size) along with missing build steps. I would recommend finding their assembly video. located on the SD card / USB stick. The video clearly shows what goes where and the whole assembly went much more smoothly. The biggest problem I had with this engraver was the assembly. It would be great if they could figure out how to ship this thing over 90% assembled but I can see why they don't. The problem is that sometimes a second pair of hands, or even smaller hands, are required to help with the various t-nuts and screws that need to be held in place while you align the extruder guides and t-nuts. Although honestly this is the worst. Again, I highly recommend watching the video. it really helps. So let's talk about the laser engraver itself. They include a small 3D printed calibration cube that you can use to determine a good distance between the laser head and the object to be engraved. You basically place it between the head and the object and then use the little screw knob on top of the laser to change the distance to the size you want. I've mostly successfully engraved wood and stoneware, but I've burned my tablet, but that's entirely up to me. I want to write more but to be honest it's pretty straight forward.
