They're easy to adjust thanks to a sliding shoulder pad that's also adjustable, so it stays exactly where you want it when you attach the chairs. I can't say anything about durability as we've only had them so well for a few weeks. There is some learning curve or maybe different opinions on attaching. My husband likes to attach them to both sides of the chair, top and bottom. I prefer to use them as they are shown with the top of one side and the bottom of the other side. Both opinions work, just depends on how much you want to play around with them. We're so glad we found them, so our summer concert is going much easier.
