Good but not great for lightbulbs

I used this on my ceiling fan which is about 15 feet tall. Pulling out the blown CFL bulb required so much force to attach the bracket to the bulb that I figured I would either smash the bulb or knock the ceiling fan out of the bracket but luckily that didn't happen and the bulb came in okay out. However, I was never able to put in a new bulb, so I had to pull out the ladder anyway. To be fair, part of the problem was that my socket was crooked, so maybe next time I try it will work just fine. I wonder if they should consider slightly lower spring tension and silicone coating in future models.
