Ok device. A BIG problem

This is a pretty good product with a HUGE problem. Read on: I bought this mainly for the functionality of the soldering iron and heat gun. I already have a good quality power supply but I figured why not buy another one. The 853D works very well as a soldering gun and heat gun, BUT. It turns out that the common minus for test voltage and output power is a direct path to GROUND. This means that if you are testing something that runs on V mains and you put the 'black' probe in the wrong place you will create a 0 ohm path to earth. IT'S GETTING WORSE! The positive voltage output terminal has a resistance to ground of 150 ohms. This means if you test 120v you will get 1 amp. I'm sure that would be enough to fry the circuit. OH and the USB port "-” is also an absolute short to ground. So if you had something plugged into the USB port when you plugged one of the cords into something that was mains powered, it would likely burn out that USB device. All I can say for now is DO NOT USE A USB, VOLTAGE TESTER, or POWER SUPPLY. Unless you really know what you're doing. And without those things, there are probably better/cheaper/smaller options for a decent heat gun/soldering iron combo.
