I used this 8" piece to connect the driver side downpipe to the passenger side Y-pipe on my 5.4L 07 F150. It replaced a plug I had made from a thinner caliber exhaust pipe. Pipe a few years ago that appears to have rusted. I used a pipe expander to repair existing 2.5 inch OD pipe. Hit it with sandpaper to remove the rust residue from the old pipe and unhook the driver's side cat from the headers. Sprayed some penetrating oil and slid this 2.5" ID pipe into place. I clamped it down with new band clamps and re-tightened the exhaust to the headers. There are no leaks, the bottom no longer rattles.
