Has enough tension to keep your expensive dive computer from dragging or free swimming. I have an Oceanic 3.0 and put the key ring in the molded loop on my computer and can easily detach it from the spool after a dive with the quick release buckle attached. The stainless steel hook appears to be 100% stainless steel so should not be affected by salt water. I couldn't find out from the manufacturer what the spring is made of, but I think if it rusts it will last for many more years before breaking. I will buy one of these for my son who loves mine.
