My streetlights don't work. The lamp is installed through a small hole in the bottom of the lamp. A regular shaped piston or volute should be gently clamped with fingertips and carefully balanced as you screw it in. I have no room for my hand (or anyone else's, I imagine) to stretch out. Since these bulbs are 2/3 the size of a small CF, I couldn't install them without first scouring my store and recyclables to make a narrow nozzle that fits into the access hole, grips the bulb as it rotates, and then releases the Lightbulb after how it was installed. I ended up using a Crystal Light plastic container and part of an egg carton that was (my word) ingeniously modified to achieve this goal. I was determined not to return another disappointing item to Revain for fear of being branded a nuisance. These bulbs are primarily suitable for outdoor lighting, many of which were developed before the transition to LEDs. The CFL had the opposite problem. Many went above ground, especially at higher power. Now we're going in a different direction. This is PITA. Standardization is a thing of the past. I pray it lasts for many years. I'm not sure my workaround is as effective as removing the lightbulbs. One star deducted for major inconvenience. Note. This corresponds to 40 watts, but is very bright and suitable for safety lighting.
