Just got a size 6 for my 5 year old. (he's a little taller than the average 5 year old) but they fit well but are a bit tight right at the waist. They are not too tight, my son was able to put them on without much effort. But since his shirts have to be tucked into his pocket, I think they might be a bit uncomfortable for him during the day. Let's see
