I am very glad I bought this. It works great and there are no small black foam spots to deal with. Just remember to move your project around frequently while you are felting it (prevents part of the project from being felted in Woolbuddy) and clean the wool rug between wool color changes. The pad is simply cleaned with a sweater comb or even better with a sweater stone (from Dritz). I usually flip the pad over when I change color and then clean the sides of the pad when I'm done. The biggest problem I had was the pad slipping while felting. spent a few days chasing it around my worktop before thinking of putting a piece of non-slip shelf liner underneath and voila! Problem solved. I wish it was a bigger size for larger projects, but until then it's great! It has already paid for itself because in the 2 months I've been using I've typically used 2 to 3 foam pads for about $6 each.
