Cooper-Atkins vs. CDN Dot2 Oven Thermometer

Our oven broke and during service I was told our old oven thermometer read 50 degrees. Both this thermometer and the CDN DOT2 NSF oven test thermometer received mostly good, but also some bad reviews. I bought both. They recorded comparable temperatures when placed side by side across a range of temperatures. It's good to have both as you can see the temperature changing depending on your position in the oven (without opening the door that changes the temperature and moving it). When the mechanic returned with the part previously ordered, he confirmed that the temperature recorded matched his more expensive unit. The Cooper-Atkins is a little smaller, a little harder to read, but has better contrast since its background is white instead of silver. and about $2 less. See attached photo of them.
