Not all antennas are created equal

No antenna picks up all signals from all directions. Each one serves a very specific purpose, and if you're expecting them to do something different, you might be disappointed. Please note that this or a similar antenna may not be sufficient to receive all desired channels. This antenna, and in my opinion this applies to all flat panel HDTV antennas, is NOT omnidirectional. Online reviews often list them as omnidirectional, but manufacturers are much more cautious in their descriptions. The antenna should be placed on an outside wall opposite the TV towers to be received. The direction does not have to be exact, but rotating the antenna 90 degrees will affect reception. In my case, this reduced the number of channels I could receive. This type of antenna is also designed for UHF reception. Most, but not all, HDTV transmitters operate in the UHF band. This antenna receives some VHF signals depending on frequency and direction. When I set up my antenna, all but one of the major networks were broadcasting on UHF from the east of my house. Another was broadcast on VHF from the south. No orientation of this antenna would receive every transmitter. I contacted Antennas Direct customer service and they responded quickly and helped find a solution. I had to add a VHF antenna to my setup and together with this antenna they work great. Customer service was great! The tvfool.com website can show location, frequency (UFH or VHF) and direction of channels to your address. Focus on the table listing stations in descending order of signal strength to better understand what to expect from the antenna.

Great indoor antenna if you're close to the towers
