Review on πŸƒ Garmin Forerunner 405 with Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) and USB Connectivity: Stay Fit and Connected by Josue Porter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool for beginner runners

I'm a relatively new runner training for my first competitive runs - 5k and half marathon. The Garmin Forerunner 405 was a key part of my training program. As a beginner runner, I still don't have a good feel for the pace of my comfortable and fast training runs, mileage, hill elevation, etc. Garmin allows me to complete workouts with real-time tracking of all these elements, which I think has really improved the quality of my training . I love all of Garmin's training features and can compare all of my workouts at home using Garmin Connect. It's great to see my average pace increase as the mileage increases! I also appreciate Garmin's accurate distance measurement, which helps me stay honest on long runs. Being able to use the Garmin in bike mode is an added bonus for me. Now on to form and function - I'm a petite woman and although the Garmin is larger than a regular watch on my wrist I find it fits well and is comfortable to walk on. The heart rate monitor is also useful once you get used to it. I don't have any issues with the bevel and like the ability to switch between displays while running. I found the device easy to set up and easy to use, even in places where I wasn't sure I would get good GPS reception (e.g. rural Maine). a good tool in my workouts and I feel like it helps me run better and track my workouts and workouts more accurately.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Big and bulky
