**UPDATE** After wearing them from 10am to 5pm, walking and standing at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, they didn't do me any good. The biggest problem for me (maybe you have a different experience) is that the neck is too high and after a while the top rubs and cuts into my ankle. Also, it didn't seem to have the arch support I needed for hiking. So they're only good for gym workouts and maybe running (I had no problem running 5 miles or more). === I am a neutral shoe runner. I change a new pair of shoes every 4-6 months because it takes me so long to run 300-400 miles in running shoes. This is NOT a running shoe but a cross training shoe. I could run in them like that, but they are more for various other sports and not for long-distance running. Some information from the manufacturer's site:------------------------------ ------ --------- ----------------------- ------ Lightweight, flexible and durable breathable Mesh upper Synthetic forefoot strap for added stability Charge midsole Cushioning® absorbs shock and turns it into an instant blast. Full length non-marking rubber outsole improves durability, traction and support Most of my running shoes weigh around 7-8 ounces. But less than 11 ounces, this is a heavier shoe. Also, they are running shoes, so they need to be reinforced for different purposes+. For me, my dress/work shoes are a size 9 and my trainers are a size 9.5-10. Order the size you normally wear as there will be some room along the toe length and across the width of the box. So they are a bit larger than my usual shoe size but that is good for me as they fit me almost like a 9.5 which is good for freedom of movement. > As a runner/walker, I prefer shoes with a drop of 0-4mm to encourage midfoot and forefoot running. But that's my preference. Generally, for athletics, a 10mm drop works great. + I like the extra layer of material around the toe to reduce pinholes that appear too early in the toe box. you know who you are We've seen you wear your flip flops by the pool, on the beach, in a hotel lobby, etc. + Sufficiently flexible outsole for a more natural foot movement. They held up pretty well without too much slippage. Good grip on asphalt.+ The color and style are well done and balanced in my opinion. I personally can't stand some shoe companies that make gaudy, morbid shoe styles. You look great. + Not particularly padded, but still comfortable. I wear minimalist (no cushioning) trail shoes and tried the Hoka One One with maximum cushioning. This is a good average amount of pillows. Comfortable enough for most activities, but I wouldn't wear it if I was on my feet all day like nurses and some customer service representatives. These shoes are not designed for that. I'm taking her on a multi-day trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and will be on my feet for over 8 hours at a time. If this turns out to be a bad experience I will come back and update this post. But with the little use I've put into them so far, standing and walking is expected to do just fine for a couple of hours. + Many additional holes for laces in different positions. I love that there are multiple ways someone could lace up these shoes. GENERAL INFORMATION: For me these are reliable shoes as I play different sports. Also, this black pair looks great with jeans (jeans of almost any color), works well for most activities and is comfortable. .until I'm on my feet all day.
