(manual measurements taken from manufacturers sizing chart) I was on the borderline between L and XL so ordered both with the intention of returning one (or keep both if they match). NO GLOVE FITS, the fingers were too short and the width of the palm was so narrow that the glove pulled on the contours of my palm and created a "trampoline" between the hypothenar and thenar ridges. FYI, I bought a thinner silk lining from another store. The manufacturer used the exact same manual measurements and the measurements were perfect. This confirms that there is something odd in the SMARTWOOL size chart and not in my measurements. On the plus side, the Mernios fabric was fairly soft and the construction felt solid.
