I've been buying Sony Walkmans for many years but they seem to die after about three years. I hope this one lasts longer. If so, then 4 stars remain. If he dies quickly, I'll regret not giving him fewer stars. As for the Sony Walkman comparison, the battery is charged from the bottom of the CD player. With Sony, they charge from the inside and you can't open the case wide enough to easily remove the batteries. So I love this feature. When I was looking for what to buy, one of the questions I wanted answered was if it remembers where you left off when you stopped listening to the CD. Half of the respondents answered yes, half no. I don't know why half said yes because as far as I can tell there's no way to go back exactly where you left off. That's why I only gave 4 stars. The sound quality is excellent for what I use it for which is listening to books. I hope to have many happy years listening to books with this CD player.
