Review on TPOHH Stainless Cylindrical Double Sided Adhesive by Dino Wilson

Depending on the application, this can be a good choice.

The cylinder you see is well machined and quite strong. However, the interior design leaves a lot to be desired and does not fulfill its function. There are two installation methods. The first is to use the included expansion shaft, which works by tightening the top nut, which compresses the expansion shaft, causing it to warp (and expand in the middle). Then screw in the bottom of the larger of the two cylinder pieces to tighten and make contact with the surface. Once it's secure, just screw the top on. The problem with this is twofold. The system will work well depending on whether you are installing in concrete, but if you are installing on a wooden surface it may rise causing problems installing the bottom of the cylinder. Another way to install a doorstop if your surface is wood is to use the small plate that comes with two mounting screws. An additional mounting screw goes into the square center stamped into the plate. This is the screw that you use to screw on the bottom base. The problem with this is that A. the holes in that little plate are too small for 1" screws and B. I don't think they're long enough to properly attach the base plate to the surface. So you'll need to drill those holes first , to use the supplied screws, and then if you want to provide more suitable screws for the intended purpose, you need to provide them yourself Higher price, better design, and half the installation time.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • I'm concerned
