upset. Wouldn't buy again.

The package arrived quickly. Metal hands literally punched through the box. The plastic spool was rough on one end (this didn't affect performance, but it made me think it wasn't new). In the box was an additional lever - the same one that was supposed to be soldered to the winder. The instructions were clear; However, I didn't have the strength in my hands to attach a table clamp or a long arm that is tightened with a wing nut. Even with a wrench, the wire arm just slips out from under the wing nut. I chose a metal wrap because I thought it would be better quality and the metal could last longer, but the design of the gears is very bad. They don't fit together properly and the gear closest to the crank slides back and forth on the gear that turns it. When trying to launch, the handle doesn't rotate at first, so I have to apply force, which then accelerates it to high speed before I'm ready. The curves are very "rough" because the transmissions are clunky and imprecise. If I keep spinning steadily, it won't jam, but it will jam slightly with every change in speed. The yarn is very, very tight on the spool (and I use a Swift). I can't find any troubleshooting information for this issue online. Eventually the yarn only wraps about half the space it could wrap around the spool (so it makes a very short cake), which might not be a big deal, but I think it might have something to do with how tight the wraps yarn. Will return. The handle never rotates at first, so I have to push it down, which then accelerates it to high speed before I'm ready. Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
