I have an iPad Pro 12.9 2021 to use with Magic Keyboard Version 2021. I have no problem installing the iPad or closing the keyboard case. The material is thin but feels like high quality plastic. That looks great. I wish there was a way to protect the borders of the iPad. I don't expect this case to protect my iPad from falls but it is the best option. And yes, it's expensive, but your iPad will cost more. Let's see how long it lasts with me. Update: I've noticed reviewers on YouTube commenting on the "perfect opening" design. As you can see from the photos it is not perfect. I even ordered a replacement thinking it might be my broken part. The replacement was exactly the same but I found a scratch on the back (photo). I ended up keeping my original order and sending back a replacement. The replacement was sealed and new. I think there are some manufacturing differences.
