These are good magnetic blocks; I originally bought the holdall for Christmas and my 1 year old loves it. So I bought this 42 piece set but didn't realize that the magnets only work in certain places (long square blocks only have magnets on the ends). They are still fun to play with but my 1.5 year old has a lot harder to figure out than just small parts in a holdall. I saw her get frustrated when some of them didn't connect. If you can find a good deal it's worth buying, but I think anyone under the age of 3 should stick with the travel kits that Tegu offers until they really figure out how to connect to build something with the larger ones.
