I have not used them for SMD work before this purchase but I am very impressed with them. They were well tinned when I bought them but I filled them in before use anyway; It didn't take long as they are decent quality and fit my SMD straight away. This will be my way of making SMD chips in the future instead of hot air which I used. I love her! PS I would like to point out that they have an inner diameter of about 24mm compared to my regular 25mm tips (cheap but they fit me). They still worked fine for me without chipping my ceramic element, but I would recommend you check yours carefully before screwing them all the way in. That's probably because they're better than the standard Hakko type than my cheap copies.
