These shoes fit me just right right out of the box (after lots of research into different types of trail running shoes and trying on a few well-known brands). My first outing was a combination of rocky, slippery with wet leaves, and fairly steep (about 5 miles round trip), and this shoe handled it all comfortably. It didn't take me time to "break them in" either. One note is that as suggested I went a half size smaller than my usual size and that has worked best for me. Very happy with this shoe.
