I've used all kinds of bottles and containers for outdoor activities and they've all been decent - unobtrusive. I had low standards for plastic water bottles and was happy if I used them 3 times before they fell apart or started leaking. I haven't regretted it since my first bottle of Nalgene. Aside from specialty uses, Nalegene Tritan wide mouth bottles have become the STANDARD bottle for all my uses. They're significantly higher quality than previous bottles and bottles I've had and I appreciate the BPA-free nature. They survived 10x bottle abuse for which I paid double. The wide neck became essential as space became an advantage for me when ultralight hiking. In addition, the wide opening makes it easy to use SteriPen and filters, and can also be used as a container when searching for small edibles. Partly filled with water and topped with an LED flashlight, the brighter bottles make great camping lanterns or signals. There is such a wide range of colors to suit most people's style - I have a preference for blue, grey, and black. I am very happy with their overall quality and versatility and now only carry Nalgene bottles.
