I finally threw away my rusty, bent church key and invested a whopping six dollars in this quality can opener. I use this primarily to open storage jars and the pointed end does a good job of firmly gripping the rim of the jar and punching a decent hole in the lid from the outside. A lot of effort on my part. The metal on this thing is thick, so there's no way you can bend it unless you grab some tools from the garage. The wood on the handle feels comfortable and looks like it has been handcrafted with attention to quality and detail.
